Black GOP Congressional Candidate Stephen Broden Calls for "Violent Overthrow of Current Government" if GOP Loses Elections

I hope voters will think long and hard before siding with either party at the polls next month. Personally, I have crossed party lines to support candidates who best personify the issues important to me but one has to ask out loud, what in the world was Republican congressional candidate Stephen Broden thinking when he called for a violent overthrow of the government if the GOP didn't prevail in the upcoming elections? Isn't that just giving a match to a person on the fringe who would love nothing more than to harm our elected leaders and possibly the president? It should be noted that Broden is challenging Democratic incumbent Rep. Eddie Bernice Johnson in Dallas' 30th Congressional district.

"If the government is not producing the results or has become destructive to the ends of our liberties, we have a right to get rid of that government and to get rid of it by any means necessary," Broden said, adding the nation was founded on a violent revolt against Britain's King George III. Watson asked if violence would be in option in 2010, under the current government. "The option is on the table. I don't think that we should remove anything from the table as it relates to our liberties and our freedoms," Broden said, without elaborating. "However, it is not the first option." Isn't he making threats against the lives of our elected officials? Isn't this tantamount to terroristic threats? It should be noted that Republican leaders in Texas repudiated his statements, but they continue to endorse him to unseat Johnson. Er, if the GOP loses the elections, it would be because people don't believe the line they are trying to ram down our throats after allowing President George W. Bush to make a mess of things during his eight years in office. If the New Black Panther Party had called for a violent overthrow of the government, Republican leaders, including wingnut Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck and others, would be shouting war!
