Robert E. Hill, TN GOP State Senate Candidate Charged with Aggravated Assault in After Allegedly Pulling Gun on Wife

I am appalled that Robert E. Hill, a Memphis Republican state senate candidate, has been accused of domestic violence. According to the Commercial Appeal, police charged Hill with aggravated assault in August. His wife, Theresa W. Hill, told police her husband pulled a loaded gun from his waistband, pointed it at her head, started praying and told her to pray because he was going to kill her and then himself, according to a court affidavit. This dispute was all over a Facebook page. Is this the person people in the 29th district want to represent them? Here's an excerpt of the mess he's in as told by the Commercial Appeal:
Hill left after she [wife] begged, cried and told him she had called police, according to court and police records. The couple had been arguing about 11:45 p.m. Aug. 7 in their Whitehaven home in the 800 block of Bluebird, according to the police report.

A Facebook page was the source of the disagreement. She told police her page on the social networking site was the cause, but Hill contends she objected to entries on his page.

In an interview, Hill denied the charge and said his wife's statements were untrue. Her motive, he contends, was to leave him for another man, taking their four children and household furniture with her while he was jailed for nearly 24 hours on the domestic violence charge. Source
He was reportedly ordered by the court not to have any contact with his wife, so it's really convenient for him to lay the blame for all this on his doorstep. I would encourage the voters of his district to take a long and hard look at his candidacy. I wouldn't want a hot-headed, trigger-happy candidate to represent my district. Besides, Robert Hill's website links to his Facebook page. Gee, is his campaign so financially challenged that he couldn't afford a website? Speaks volumes. His opponent, State Sen. Ophelia Ford should win in a landslide.
