Juan Alicea Orozco Fatally Shoots Sister, Jesnishia, Then Committed Suicide During Family Dispute

SHOCK: Juan Alicea Orozco, 23, and his sister Jesnishia Alicea Orozco, died in an apparent murder-suicide precipitated by a family dispute in Fort Lauderdale. According to the Sun Sentinel, Juan fatally shot his sister and then turned the gun on himself as they stood next to their mother, the police said.

The shootings happened about 1:30 p.m. at a handmade-cigar kiosk where the mother worked, at the main entrance of the shopping and entertainment complex on Fort Lauderdale's beach. The horrific scene played out in front of lunch diners who had packed the terraces of Hooters and Fat Tuesday, as well as passers-by and tourists on the busy stretch of A1A.

The Orozco siblings apparently had been arguing over money and living arrangements, said police spokesman Sgt. Frank Sousa. The mother told police that she had turned away and then heard the gunshots. When she turned around, she saw her children lying on the ground. Source

It is shocking to see that a brother could murder his sister in cold blood. I am appalled that some seek to resolve disputes through heinous methods.
