Tevin Williams & James Edwards facing numerous charges in the shooting death of Daquavious Stephon Mapp at house party in Conyers, Ga.
Just a mere week since the savage beating death of Bobby Maurice Tillman outside a Douglasville, Ga., home by four black males, we have another incident of black-on-black crime at another house party. This time, Conyers, Ga., police have arrested two teens, Tevin Williams, 17, and James Edwards, 17, in the shooting death of high school student Daquavious Stephon Mapp, 18. According to 11 Alive, both suspects face numerous charges, including aggravated assault, possession of a firearm and reckless conduct. Yeah, I can hear their respective mothers now, "my son is innocent." I must add that Jeavoye Akeem Jones, the "homeowner," was charged with keeping a disorderly home.
The two men were members of two rival groups. A dispute that began inside a party on Treeleaf Lane moved outside and erupted into gunfire. Conyers police say Mapp and two other teens were shot while attending the party with 200 to 300 other teens packed inside of a home in the Tavers Creek subdivision.
Neighbors called Conyers police at about 9 o'clock Saturday night to complain about noise from the home on Treeleaf Lane. Officers ordered the party-goers to leave, and thought they had. After police left the scene, the party resumed. Police say the homeowner was charging a three dollar cover to get inside the party.
Witnesses have told police that several people fighting at the party were kicked out, and the fight spilled outside. Police say a 15-year-old was shot in the arm, a 16-year-old in the hip. Police have charged the man who hosted the party with running a disorderly home. Investigators say they found evidence of drinking and marijuana use inside the home belonging to 21-year-old Jeavoye Akeem Jones. Source: 11 Alive News
Could someone please tell me why underage children were at this party at a home in which alcohol and drugs were found. I am talking about the 15 and 16 year old teens injured at the party. Exactly where were their parents? This is another senseless death caused by armed thugs. When will people learn to act responsibly, not as animals. Here's my question, how did Jeavoye Akeem Jones afford to purchase that home? Drug-dealing maybe? It is time to stop the senseless murders in this city.
