Steven Pieper, the ex-boyfriend of Jenni-Lyn Watson, was arrested after the Mercyhurst College student's body was found in a storage shed near Syracuse Saturday afternoon. He was charged with second-degree murder. He pled not guilty to the murder and to dumping her body in the park. Pieper, 21, is being held without bail because of the nature of the charges, according to the Syracuse Post-Standard.Steven M. Pieper, 21, of 8237 Coconut Tree Drive, Clay, was arrested about 4 p.m. and arraigned tonight on a charge of second-degree murder in Clay Town Court. District Attorney William Fitzpatrick said Pieper (PIE-per) and Watson had been involved in an on-and-off relationship, which Watson tried to end in early October. It is a sad commentary that the perpetrators of violence against their partners think their actions won't come to light. It is common knowledge that when a woman is murdered, the first person the police look at is the boyfriend or husband.
