Steven Cowan Fires Shotgun at TV Upset at Bristol Palin's Performance at "Dancing With the Stars"

Steven Cowan fired shotgun into his television over Bristol Palin's performance on "Dancing With the Stars," triggers 15-hour stand-off with cops.

I am totally ticked off that Bristol Palin beat out Brandy Norwood to go to the finals of "Dancing With the Stars," but I wouldn't break the law due to my outrage. I believe the scales were tipped by Sarah Palin supporters and some people in the Tea Party. Well, Steven Cowan took his outrage to another level. According to The Smoking Gun, Cowan, became so enraged by Palin’s success that he actually fired a shotgun round into his television, triggering a 15-hour standoff with Wisconsin cops. Cowan is facing disorderly conduct and weapons charges.

According to a criminal complaint, Cowan’s wife called police Monday evening to report that her husband had blasted the TV and was threatening to kill himself. Cowan, who had been drinking, became angry while watching Palin, 20, perform on the ABC program.

As Palin, pictured at left, was dancing, Cowan “jumped up and swore, saying something to the effect of, ‘The fucking politics.’ Steven was upset that a political figure’s daughter was dancing on this particular show when Steven did not think that she was a good dancer,” the complaint notes. Janice Cowan told Dane County Sheriff's Office deputies that she called 911 after her husband blasted the TV and then pointed the shotgun at her. She added that Cowan warned her that he would kill himself if she brought anyone back to their home in the town of Vermont. Source

This is too funny, but it shows just how on the edge some people are that such an outrage would cause them to go berserk. Still, Bristol Palin shouldn't have gone any further last night. She cannot dance, she isn't a star. Heck, she barely graduated from high school. Is this the image Sarah Palin wants to portray to the world of her family? It took Mrs. Palin several tries to get her bachelor's degree and she has a nasty habit of not completing things she started -- governor of Alaska, etc. Bristol Palin rode her mother's coattails into the finals. I am also amazed that no-one seems to be talking about her sister, Willow's rant on Facebook, even calling a commenter a f****t. Where's the outrage? Of course, Sarah Palin and her family believe they shouldn't be held to the same standard as decent people. Teenage pregnancy and homophobia are all the rave in the Palin household.
