Daniel Seckinger, Gwinnett County School Board Member, Arrested for Failing to Pay Child Support

SHAME: Daniel Seckinger, a long-time Gwinnett County, Ga., school board member, was arrested after officials accuse him of failing to pay child support.

According to Channel 2 Action News, Seckinger was arrested and charged on Monday. He was  reportedly being held on a $7,000 bond. Seckinger's ex-wife reportedly filed for a contempt hearing for failing to pay child support. Seckinger stopped paying child support in April 2010, according to documents filed by his former wife. The arrears totaled $15,000, court papers showed, according to WSB-TV.

Seckinger represents District II, so residents, please note this and follow the case. You don't want someone skirting the law to represent your child in their school. The excuse he is using is that the economy took a toll on his home-building business. Er, lack of business doesn't mean a holiday for parental responsibilities. If his ex-wife lost her job she would still have to take care of her kids. This is no excuse. Seckinger has served on the board since 1995.
