Pat Buchanan's "Suicide of A Superpower" Laments the "End of White America" & Says Legislated Equality of Rights for Blacks Led to Socialist Utopia

Pat Buchanan's latest book, "Death of a Superpower, Will America Survive to 2025" bemoans the end of White America and says end to segregation and the legislated equality of rights for African Americans," have led to a "socialist utopia."

Pat Buchanan's latest book, "Suicide of a Superpower," will undoubtedly irk many. We recently received an advance copy of the audio book fromMacmillan Audio, read by Buchanan himself, and I must say, it's interesting, and classic Patrick J. Buchanan -- gloom and doom -- with maximum controversy interspersed throughout because of the "browning" of America. This is our review of Buchanan's latest work. Whether you agree with his views or not, it's a hard-hitting and powerful book. Some may say it all amounts to bullsh*t, but I say everyone should read this book to see how people who hold views contrary to their own.

The book begins:

"As the faith that gave birth to the West is dying in the West, peoples of European descent from the steppes of Russia to the coast of California have begun to die out, as the Third World treks north to claim the estate. The last decade provided corroborating if not conclusive proof that we are in the Indian Summer of our civilization."

He asks, "Will America Survive to 2025?"

"America is disintegrating. The centrifugal forces pulling us apart are growing inexorably. What unites us is dissolving. And this is true of Western Civilization....Meanwhile, the state is failing in its most fundamental duties. It is no longer able to defend our borders, balance our budgets, or win our wars."

The chapter that piqued our interest was Chapter 4, "The End of White America:"

“[W]hite America is an endangered species. By 2020, whites over 65 will out-number those 17 and under. Deaths will exceed births. The white population will begin to shrink and, should present birth rates persist, slowly disappear.”

“Mexico is moving north. Ethnically, linguistically and culturally, the verdict of 1848 is being over-turned. Will this Mexican nation within a nation advance the goals of the Constitution -- to “insure domestic tranquility” and ‘make us a more perfect union’? Or have we imperiled our union?”

In other words, the America is heading for disaster since whites won't be a majority. Really? Only Pat Buchanan could make a black or Latino feel dirty, just because of the color of their skin.

We were also very "moved" by Chapter 6, "Equality vs. Freedom," in which he lamented that "the end to segregation and the legislated equality of rights for African Americans," have led to a "socialist utopia." Is he condoning Jim Crow, segregation and racial injustice in this country? Gee, I can't seem to remember hearing Pat Buchanan's name being mentioned in the struggle for racial justice and equality. In other words, inequality is just fine for Pat Buchanan and his posse.

He also bemoans the end of "Christian America" in Chapter 2:

"If [Christopher] Dawson is correct, the drive to de-Christianize America, to purge Christianity from the public square, public schools and public life, will prove culturally and socially suicidal for the nation."

“The last consequence of a dying Christianity is a dying people. Not one post-Christian nation has a birth rate sufficient to keep it alive....The death of European Christianity means the disappearance of the European tribe, a prospect visible in the demographic statistics of every Western nation.”

Um, the right wing evangelicals are partly to blame for the sharp decline in church membership. People have realized there are far too many hypocrites, of all races, gracing pulpits across this country. Why even bother going to church to listen to their spiel? You know it's not coming from a place of humility and authenticity. Didn't the Bible prophesy that the end times would be just like this?

Of course, he doesn't leave President Obama out of his discourse. In Chapter 3, "The Crisis of Catholicism," he goes in for the kill:

“Half a century on, the disaster is manifest. The robust and confident Church of 1958 no longer exists. Catholic colleges and universities remain Catholic in name only. Parochial schools and high schools are closing as rapidly as they opened in the 1950s. The numbers of nuns, priests and seminarians have fallen dramatically. Mass attendance is a third of what it was. From the former Speaker of the House to the Vice President, Catholic politicians openly support abortion on demand.”

“How can Notre Dame credibly teach that all innocent life is sacred, and then honor a president committed to ensuring that a woman’s right to end the life of her innocent child remains sacrosanct?”

Pat Buchanan is of the viewpoint that we can never create a nation in which all the races, tribes, cultures and creeds of Earth are all equal. That utopia can never exist. I guess he is right. We can't all be equal but that doesn't mean we lose sight of the Biblical truth of taking care of the least among us. That doesn't mean we can't give each child the opportunity to succeed despite the color of his or her skin. I will say, this was a very riveting book and I suspect it will be a New York Times bestseller, but the racial undertones will continue to fan the flames of distrust and hatred for everything Pat Buchanan stands for. He, like many ultra conservatives, are threatened by the "browning" of America. Tough luck. People like Pat Buchanan, Bryan Fischer, Rush Limbaugh and others are the ones really "killing the real country we inherited -- the best and greatest country on earth.”
