MI Police Officer Trevor Slot Struck & Killed by Bank Robbery Suspect as He Deployed Stop Sticks

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Police Officer Trevor Slot, 41, who served with the Walker Police Department in Michigan. Officer Slot was struck and killed by a bank robbery suspect while he attempted to deploy stop sticks on a I-96 and 8th Avenue.

According to Officer Down Memorial Page, the two suspects had robbed a bank in Ravenna, Mich., and were fleeing the area when they were spotted by on-duty FBI agents who were in the area. The agents started a pursuit of the suspects and were joined by several state and local agencies.
The pursuit continued along I-96 at speeds over 100 mph as the suspects opened fire on the pursuing units with a shotgun and rifle. As the vehicle approached the 8th Avenue exit Officer Slot attempted to deploy stop sticks but was fatally struck by the vehicle. Officer Slot leaves behind a wife, Kim Slot, who is a teacher at Crossroads Middle School. This is sad. Again, our thoughts and prayers goes out to his family.The two suspects were reportedly shot to death when they crashed in Ottawa County's Crockery Township, located near Grand Rapids.
