LaBron Newman, ex-husband of jaywalking Mom Raquel Nelson, whose four year old son A. J. Newman died in hit-and-run by Jerry L. Guy, wants her to to be held "accountable" for her role in the accident, though he hasn't seen his son since 2007.
LaBron Newman, the ex-husband of jaywalking Atlanta mom Raquel Nelson, says he wants his ex-wife to pay for her alleged part in the death of their four year old son, A.J. Newman, who was killed April 10, 2010, by hit-and-run driver Jerry L. Guy. He told the AJC that Nelson shouldn't be given a second chance at a trial. Um, I wonder what role LaBron Newman played in his child's life during the four years he was on earth? Oh wait, he he said the last time he saw his son was in 2007 (when the child was one year old) and continued to make a bunch of excuses as to why he hadn't been in contact with the child. Excuse me, but no judge is going to listen to this fool. He wants his ex-wife to be held accountable for her part in the death of the child. Um, who's holding him accountable for not seeing his son since 2007?
Newman and Nelson were officially divorced on May 19, 2011 after Newman filed a second time for divorce in February claiming Nelson took the children and left in the middle of the night sometime in 2007. The court noted, however, that the duration of the marriage was from Oct. 7, 2005 until June 1, 2007. The divorce decree also stated that Nelson failed to respond when she was served divorce papers. Raquel Nelson must have left LaBron Newman for a reason, contrary to what he would have people to believe. It takes two to tango and two to have an argument. So laying all the blame on his ex-wife is just not going to cut it in the court of public opinion. My maternal grandmother always said there are three sides to every story -- yours, mine and the truth. I still believe if LaBron Newman really wanted to be a part of his son's life, he would have found a way to do so, short of walking on water. Why the AJC reached out to this fool is beyond me. He's the type of absentee Dad President Obama spoke about a few years ago.
