MARTA Officer Robert Waldo Allegedly Shoots Teen Joetavius Stafford in the Back & Twice as He Laid on Ground Outside Atlanta Train Station

Officer in fatal shooting of teen Joetavius Stafford outside Atlanta train station identified as MARTA Police Officer Robert Waldo, who allegedly shot the teen in the back and twice as he laid on the ground.

The MARTA officer in the shooting death of Atlanta teen Joetavius Stafford has been identified as Robert Waldo, 31. Stafford's brother, Rodney Stafford, continues to maintain that his brother was shot in the back by the officer. We have yet to hear from MARTA or the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) on whether those assertions are factual. He also said while his brother laid on the ground, the officer shot him two more times. The shooting occurred Saturday night outside a Vine City train station where a scuffle broke out. Someone reportedly fired into the air, which caught the attention of the officers, who came to investigate. What led to the fatal shooting of the teenager is still a mystery though MARTA released a statement saying Officer Waldo fired the shots while confronting an armed suspect. Um, so why continue to shoot him while he was lying on the ground?
