SHOCK: Leonardo Parera, a realtor in Mountain Lakes, NJ, was shot and killed after he fatally shot a female co-worker, Christine Capone King, late Friday afternoon, at the Exit Realty Gold Service. Parera was killed by police after firing three rounds at officers who responded to the scene after he made a 911 call threatening more violence.
Morris County Prosecutor Robert Bianchi said Parera made a 911 call after killing King and threatened to shoot anyone who approached him as workers in the building hid and barricaded themselves behind doors. He declined to comment on a possible motive but said police are investigating what kind of relationship Parera had with King. Source
This is another case of workplace violence. When will the violence against women stop? Ms. King was a married mother. Parera's LinkedIn page says he specializes in Internet marketing, distressed properties and short sales. He was also on the board of the Heartland Actors Repertory Theater in Indianapolis.
