NJ High School Student Thomas Adams Dies After Being Hit in Chest with by Baseball During Practice

Thomas Adams, sophomore at NJ high school, dies after being hit in chest with baseball during practice.

SHOCK: Thomas Adams, a sophomore at Garfield High School in Garfield, NJ, died last weekend after being hit in the chest by a pitch during practice. According to MyFoxNewYork, Adams went into cardiac arrest after being struck during the all-star indoor practice Friday night, as they practiced for an upcoming tournament later this month in Florida.

The teen was the catcher and was wearing a chest protector during the all-star team's indoor practice on Friday night. The players were getting ready for a tournament in Florida later this month.

Adams, who was the catcher and wore a chest protector, later died at St. Joseph's Regional medical Center in Paterson. His father said he had no known medical conditions.

This is a sad turn of events. In the quest to let kids be kids, it is unfortunate that this teen lost his life so early. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.
