Gunman Takes Hostages at Panama City School Board Meeting, Suffered Multiple Gunshot Wounds

BREAKING: A man has been shot after using a pistol to take hostages at the Bay County School Board meeting in Panama City, Fla. According to WJHG, starting a little after 2 p.m., the man addressed the school board briefly, before using a can of red spray paint to paint a large "V" with a circle around it on the wall of the building.
The man pulled out a gun, and released the women and children from the room, taking the others hostage. Tensions built while the man questioned the school board. Shots were fired, and SWAT teams responded and burst in. At this time, it's believed the man fired blanks at school board members, and was then been shot by authorities, or may have shot himself, though that is unclear at this time. At this time (2:30 p.m.) streets in the area of the Nelson building have been shut down.

According to Panama City Police Cheif John Van Etten, no one other than the suspect was injured. The suspect has reportedly been taken to an area hospital with multiple gun shot wounds. Source:  WHJG-TV
UPDATE#1:  The gunman has been identified as Clay Duke, 56, who was upset about his wife being fired from her job. He then used a can of red paint to spray a large "V" with a circle around it on the wall. He then pulled out a gun and started firing at close range, but no-one was hit.  He later died from a gunshot wound from his gun, police said. School Board member Ginger Littleton's heart was in the right place when she tried to knock the gun from his hand with her purse, but you don't mess with someone with a gun. It can backfire.
