Former Forsyth County, Ga., Commissioner Eddie Taylor Found Dead of Apparent Suicide

DEVELOPING: The body of Eddie Taylor, former Forsyth County, Ga., commissioner and school board member, was found in a parking lot, in what law enforcement is characterizing as a suicide.
The body of Eddie Taylor, 62, was found late Tuesday in his Chevrolet Tahoe in a parking lot off Turner Road, Forsyth County Sheriff's Capt. Frank Huggins told the AJC Thursday. He'd been shot in the head."It appears to be that the cause of death was a self-inflicted gunshot wound," Huggins said.

He said Taylor was supposed to show up for a meeting at another location that night but never did. His body was found around 10 p.m.

Taylor served on the Forsyth County Commission from 2001 to 2004 and on the Board of Education from 1996 to 2000, according to a local newspaper, the Forsyth News. The paper reported on its website that several people close to Taylor knew he was suffering through a difficult period. His former employer, Buddy Lang, told the Forsyth News that Taylor had financial and emotional problems. Source: AJC
I cannot understand how a person could get to a play of irrationality where the only way out is to kill themselves. It seems to me that's the easy way out. No-one every said life was easy and the road to success is never straight, therefore, when life throws you a curve ball, there are other ways to deal with emotional stress than killing yourself. Still, better he kill himself than take his household with him.
