Gloria Park Gluck charged with abuse and neglect in death of her mother, Anne Copeland, after family parrot cried out for help during police visit to home.
SHOCK: A parrot helped to break a case wide open. According to the
Augusta Chronicle, police said a parrot cried for help and then laughed in a South Carolina home where Gloria Park Clark is accused of neglect in the death of Anne Copeland, her 98-year-old mother.
The Post and Courier of Charleston reports today that police think the parrot's cries mimicked the interaction between the mother and daughter. Authorities summoned to the unheated home in St. George on Monday night found Anne Copeland inside. Authorities say there were seven dogs and several cats inside, and the floors were covered with animal droppings.
Authorities say Copeland died the next day. Copeland's daughter, Gloria Park Clark, is charged with abuse and neglect resulting in the death of a vulnerable adult. A bond hearing for her was scheduled. Source: Augusta Chronicle
This is so sad and puts a new spin on "Polly wants a cracker." This just shows how smart our pets are.
