SD Police Officer Ryan McCandless Shot & Killed, Two Other Officers & Suspect Wounded

Rapid City SD police officer Ryan McCandless was fatally shot, two other officers wounded as they investigated four suspicious subjects at an intersection. According to Officer Down Memorial Page Inc., one subject in the group opened fire hitting the three officers. The gunman was arrested. Officer McCandless was pronounced dead at a local hospital. The officer, who is engaged, served with the Rapid City Police Dept. for six years.
