Manhunt Under way for Convicted Felon Michael Hughey Wanted for Shooting Atlanta Police Officer Deron Fulton

DeKalb County, Ga., police & federal agents launch manhunt for Michael Hughey, a probation violator, who shot police officer Deron Fulton during foot chase.

Have you seen Michael Hughey? He is wanted for shooting DeKalb County police officer Deron Fulton Tuesday night. According to media reports, Hughey, who is wanted on probation violation stemming for a drug conviction, was a passenger in a vehicle stopped by Officer Fulton Tuesday night. Hughey ran from the police, and Fulton chased after him, both men ending up in a church parking lot, where they exchanged gunfire. Officer Fulton was hit in the rear shoulder area but was saved by his bulletproof vest. Hughey got away and is now considered a fugitive. Officer Fulton is expected to make a full recovery. If you have nothing to hide, why run from the officer and why attempt to kill him in the process? If you see this man, please call police immediately. He is considered armed and dangerous.
