Joel Chin, a music producer, whose grandfather Vincent "Randy" Chin, was a pioneering reggae producer from Jamaica, was killed late Tuesday in Kingston, as he stepped out of his car in the driveway of his home in Stony Hill. Police haven't disclosed a motive nor are any suspects in police custody. Chin, 35, moved to Jamaica from New York two years ago to devote more time to music. His family owns VP Records, based in New York, which has made stars out of artists such as Sean Paul and Beenie Man.
