"Memphis Three" Damien Echols, Jessie Misskelley & Jason Baldwin May Be Released from Prison After Court Hearing

Damien Echols, Jessie Misskelley and Jason Baldwin, known as the Memphis Three, who were convicted for killing three eight year old boys in Arkansas nearly 20 years ago, may walk free after a court hearing.

Damien Echols, Jessie Misskelley and Jason Baldwin were incarcerated in 1983 for the deaths of the three young Cub Scouts -- Michael Moore, Stevie Branch and Christopher Byers -- whose naked bodies were found hog tied in a West Memphis ditch. Echols was sentenced to death, while the others were sentenced to life in prison. The bodies of the three boys were found hog tied and naked in a ditch.

UPDATE: Memphis Three freed by Craighead County, Ark., Circuit Court Judge David Laser after taking a plea bargain known as an "Alford plea" in which they could continue to claim their innocence but plead guilty in exchange for an 18-year sentence and credit for time already served.
