Maryland State Trooper Shaft Hunter killed when his patrol car crashed into back of tractor-trailer parked on I-95.
Maryland State Trooper Shaft Hunter was killed when his patrol car collided with the back of a tractor-trailer that was parked on the shoulder of I-95 early Saturday morning, according to Officer Down Memorial Page. The tractor trailer, which was parked near the entrance of a rest stop, was driven by Albert Sandino, who was not injured. He told police he was on his way from Aberdeen to Virginia when he pulled over to check directions.Trooper Shaft was reportedly pursuing a speeding motorcycle when the accident occurred. Shaft, who served with the Maryland State Police for 11 years, is survived by a wife and six children. He was age 39.
