French junior minister George Tron resigns after preliminary investigation launched to probe allegations of rape and sexual assault brought against him by two women, one said she was inspired to come forward after African-born maid accused Dominique Strauss-Kahn of sexual assault.

Another Frenchman has been accused of sexual assault. Junior civil service minister George Tron resigned after being accused of rape and sexual assault by two women, who alleged he attacked them between 2007 and 2010. According to Fox News, one of the women said she was inspired to come forward after an African maid at Sofitel Hotel accused former IMF chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn of sexually assaulting her. Tron is a member of President Nicolas Sarkozy's UMP party. Tron, like Strauss-Kahn, has denied the allegations. Well, they can't say he was set up anymore than Dominique Strauss-Kahn was set up, since he had presidential aspirations to unseat Sarkozy.
