Conservative Writer Ben Shapiro Says "Sesame Street" a Vehicle for Spreading Left-Wing Propaganda

Conservative writer and columnist Ben Shapiro says in new book "Primetime Propaganda," "Sesame Street," "Friends" & "MASH" are vehicles for spreading left-wing propaganda.

Conservative writer and columnist Ben Shapiro believes "Sesame Street" is a vehicle for spreading left-wing propaganda. Shapiro made this revelation in his new book "Primetime Propaganda," and also levels the same accusation against shows such as "Friends," "MASH" and "Happy Days." You're kidding me right? Someone actually published this garbage? According to the Daily Mail, he reached these conclusions after interviewing industry insiders, some of whom admitted to using their shows to spread secret political messages. Gee, I wonder if the right-wing can ever be accused of such a thing?
Shapiro, 27, also spoke to one of Sesame Street’s founders, who told him that he used the programme, in the wake of 9/11, to highlight how there were peaceful alternatives to war. This revelation may surprise some, but the show – which has featured guest stars such as Katy Perry, Ricky Gervais and Michelle Obama - was criticised for having an anti-right agenda in 2009 when it mockingly referred to America’s Fox News channel as ‘Pox News’.

Sesame Street is broadcast in 120 countries, has won 118 Emmy Awards and can boast that around 95 per cent of Americans have watched it by the time they're three years old. According to Shapiro, ‘television isn't just about entertainment - it's an attempt to convince Americans that the social, economic, and foreign policy shaped by leftism is morally righteous.' Source
So much for letting kids be kids and watch "Sesame Street" on their own terms. Let's see, didn't Republican former First Lady Laura Bush appear on Sesame Street? Whose agenda was she pushing? Better yet, Patti LaBelle appeared on the children's show as well, whose agenda was she pushing when she sang about the alphabet? Ben Shapiro should have an epiphany about something that really matters, like how to break this recession and stem the high unemployment rates in the U.S.
