WTMP-AM, the Voice of Tampa's Black Community, May Come to End with Management & Format Changes

Report: WTMP-AM, the voice of Tampa's black community, may be silenced with new management and a new format.

Black media being silenced in Tampa, Fla. According to Eric Deggans, Tampa radio station WTMP-AM's 57-year tradition of serving as the voice of the local black community may come to an end Friday. That's when a new management team takes over and will start a new format. The syndicated Tom Joyner Morning Show and The Michael Baisden Show will no longer be hear on that station.
