Illinois Death Row Shut Down

Illinois' death row has been shut down. According to the Chicago Sun Times, a ban Gov. Pat Quinn signed into law in March has taken effect. The state of Illinois executed 12 men since 1977 when the death penalty was reinstated, the last one in 1999, the Sun Times said.
