Black LA Tea Party Group, Led by Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson, to Hold Rally Aimed at "Exposing Lies of the NAACP"

black South Central Los Angeles Tea Party group, led by Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson, will hold what it is calling a major rally to expose the lies of the NAACP during the group's 102nd annual convention in Los Angeles, Sunday, July 24. The group basically claims the Tea Party is better for blacks than the NAACP. Well, here's my two cents, neither group serves the best interest of the black community. Peterson claims his rally's mission is to bring "attention to the failed liberal big government agenda of the NAACP and to expose their lies and hypocrisy about the Tea Party."
"The NAACP is a partisan tool of the Obama administration," said Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson. "For decades, this group has supported left-wing polices which have created dependency, destroyed black families, and hurt race relations." Rev. Peterson cited the following examples:

NAACP spreading lies about the Tea Party. NAACP has made numerous false allegations of "racism" against Tea Party groups, but has yet to provide a shred of evidence backing up their baseless claims.

The NAACP is a partisan tool of the Obama administration. The group blindly supports Barack Obama's out-of-control federal spending and bailouts.

NAACP's hypocrisy on crime and race. The NAACP has remained silent on black on black violence. And they refuse to address recent news of black thugs attacking whites and flash mob crimes across the country—but NAACP President Benjamin Jealous says he's "deeply concerned" with the lack of black news anchors on Television.

Support for failing public schools and corrupt unions. The NAACP has aligned itself with the United Federation of Teachers to block 22 of the worst performing schools in New York City from being shut down.
I do agree that the NAACP has sidestepped many issues and have yet to call attention to the self-destructive nature of some in the black community, such as Iloune Driver, the young black man who shot up the boardwalk at Brighton Beach in Brooklyn killing an innocent bystander, Tysha Jones. They were mysteriously silent on that incident. The reality is we don't need a civil rights group to teach us right from wrong. We don't need a civil rights group to teach us the value of self-reliance and personal responsibility. I have long been critical of the NAACP and I believe it has served its purpose. As for Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson, I don't buy his line of reasoning that the Tea Party is better for blacks than the NAACP. He has a history of incendiary language at the expense of blacks in this country.
