David Russell Held Without Bail After Shooting Deaths of Kenneth Taylor & Moneet Baker, Fired Until Gun Jammed

A Far South Side Chicago man, David A. Russell, was ordered held without bond by Judge Peggy Chiampas, after being charged with the murders of Kenneth Taylor, 24, and Moneet Baker, 22, Friday. According to the Chicago Tribune, Russell was charged with two counts of first degree murder and two counts of attempted first degree murder in the shooting deaths.
Prosecutors said in court that Russell admitted to the shooting and told police where to find the gun. He fired 14 shots from a 40-caliber pistol "until the gun jammed," officials said.

Judge Peggy Chiampas in ordering him held without bail noted the "brazen" recklessness of the alleged conduct by the 22-year-old.

"Thankfully this was observed by a uniformed police officer... Thankfully the gun jammed. Thankfully the police officers were not struck and no innocent bystanders were struck," Chiampas told Russell. "All this at the very young age of 22 years old, and you're facing a potential life sentence." Source: Chicago Tribune
