Did President Obama Just Get Played by John Boehner in Deficit Talks Impasse?

President Obama left out of deficit talks by Congressional leaders, as Timothy Geithner & others being blamed for a possible "blow-up" of Obama's presidency because they're being outplayed by John Boehner & Eric Cantor.

Some folks feel President Obama has been outplayed by the likes of House Speaker John Boehner and his sidekick Eric Cantor in the deficit impasse. It's a sad commentary that Boehner showed so little regard for the president that he chose to tell reporters that he was walking away from the negotiating table before breaking the news to the president. To be fair, neither the Republicans nor the Democrats aren't coming out of this mess smelling like roses. The Tea Party freshmen seem to be calling the shots and holding Americans hostage by their actions and their agendas. I came across one interesting take from Firedoglake:
Barack Obama was the right “product” in 2008 to be sold to a country that was reeling from, to say nothing of being embarrassed over, eight years of George W. Bush. But the game has changed and, in combination with the Geithnerite upper class twit cabal, these guys are in such a bubble that they’re going to blow this presidency up. When you’re getting outplayed by fucking John Boehner and even more f*cking Eric Cantor, you should slink away red-faced, if not commit ritual seppuku to spare your family the shame. To quote newly minted conservative David Mamet: “These guys could f*ck up a baked potato.”
I don't know if Obama is out of his league or he doesn't understand Washington politics, but he is having a rough week and it shows in his poll numbers. How could a man who ran such an almost impeccable 2008 presidential campaign be waffling and literally trying to grasp at anything in the political waters to stay afloat? Either he is in a bubble being led by a bunch of idiots, doesn't get it or is getting a raw deal. The bottom line is that we don't want to hear those feel-good speeches he's known for. We want to see action and we want to see resolve. We want to see toughness and boldness, as well as a move to the center on all levels. Sarah Palin is already calling Obama a "lame duck president" in his first term. Are you going to take that Mr. President? Hell to the no! It's time for the "brother" in you to come out! I hear the ghost past of George H. W. Bush in the 1990s slowly creeping up in the background.
