Denver Broncos Wide Receiver Kenny McKinley Dead in Apparent Suicide

I can never understand why someone would commit suicide, but I guess when one reaches that breaking point then some people feel they are beyond hope and the only thing left for them to do is to take their lives. Well, I don't get it, but it is a sad turn of events the Denver Broncos, for the third time in four years, are dealing with the death of a teammate -- Kenny McKinley. According to the Charlotte Observer, he was found dead at home Monday, in Arapahoe County, in an apparent suicide.

McKinley's body was found at 3:35 p.m. local time in the second-floor master bedroom. Police believe McKinley was killed by a self-inflicted gunshot wound. According to the Charlotte Observer, authorities were called by a female friend of McKinley's who discovered the body after returning from an errand with his child.

McKinley was on injured reserve after hurting his left knee in August for the second time in eight months. His death is one in a series of tragedies to befall the Broncos.  Cornerback Darrent Williams killed in a drive-by shooting on New Year's Day 2007, and three months later backup running back Damien Nash collapsed and died after a charity basketball game in St. Louis.
