Emily Staupe, a Northeastern University lab technician, was found dead in a suspected suicide by cyanide. Her death is now raising questions about public safety fears over easy access to deadly chemicals.
According to the Boston Herald, initial tests found a plastic bag filled with crystallized cyanide. It's shocking that in the age of constant terrorist threats, universities across the country could be so lax in securing these labs.
Staupe reportedly left a note on Facebook to all her friends. She had recently lost her job and told her friends, "Each one of you has made my life special," according to the Boston Herald.
