Zyda White, 2, Left in Care of 11-Year Old Babysittter, Dies of Blunt Force Trauma

Who leaves an 11 year old child to babysit a two year old? Zyda White, 2, died of blunt force trauma while in the care of an 11 year old babysitter on Saturday at the Dunwoody Pointe Apartments in metro Atlanta. According to WSB-TV, the victim's mother called 911 when she returned to pick up the child, the police said. The child was taken to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite, where she was pronounced dead a little after midnight.

This seems to be another case of a toddler being killed. First we had fire fighter Casey Spradlin accused of murdering his girlfriend's son Brayden Robinson, and now we have this child telling officers the toddler was injured after falling off the bed. The officers in both cases beg to differ. The babysitter's mother is the co-worker of the victim's mother. The investigation is ongoing and the the case would be reviewed by the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office to determine what charges would be filed and “if the babysitter will be charged as an adult,” according to WSB-TV.

UPDATE#1: According to WSB-TV, Sandy Springs police have charged an 11-year-old babysitter with felony murder and child cruelty in the death of a 2-year-old girl.
