Goss and an 18-year-old pal were shot half a mile from the school — and just a couple of blocks from Goss’ home — around 3 p.m. in an alley on the 8600 block of South Saginaw, police said. Goss was declared dead less than an hour later at Stroger Hospital, but his friend survived and was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in serious to critical condition. This is a shame and it is sad that the young people in the inner-city communities of Chicago are walking targets for gun violence. When will this end? How many more children and young adults have to lose their lives before something drastic is done to curb the gun violence in Chicago?
Goss’ friends were involved in a fight in the cafeteria earlier Wednesday which may have prompted the shooting, Jackson said, adding that he believes his son was not the intended target. Source: Sun Times
