Multiple Shootings in Chicago Claim Lives of 7-Mo Old Baby, Three Other Family Members, Suspect in Police Custody

Multiple shootings in Chicago, claim the lives of four family members, including a seven-month old baby, Jihad, and three year old girl, Keleasha Larry. Suspect says "too bad I ran out of bullets."

Gunfire erupts in Chicago again. There multiple shooting left four family members dead, two others injured and a suspect is reportedly in police custody. According to WGN-TV, the shooting occurred in the Marquette Park neighborhood and the victims include a seven-month old boy named Jihad, Keleasha Larry, 3; Keyshai Fields, 16 and the man's pregnant wife, Twanda Thompson, who he reportedly married just weeks ago. Two other victims, the alleged gunman's mother, Leona Larry and his nephew, Demond Larry, 13, were both taken with gunshot wounds to Advocate Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn. Sounds like a domestic-type situation. This is horrendous.

Eighth District Commander John Kupczyk told reporters this morning that among the four dead, two were found in one bedroom, and two in another. He did not specify the victims' ages or genders, or where in the bedrooms they were found..

Kupczyk said police did not establish a motive for the shootings. Nor could he verify the exact relationship the suspect might have had with the victims. The person is being questioned by detectives at Wentworth Police headquarters.

Not much is known about the suspect, but he's believed to reside somewhere in the Madison, Wisconsin area. Kupczyk said police have not yet verified the exact relationship of the suspect to the victims. Source: WGN-TV
It is a sad commentary that someone could be so vicious as to shoot so many people, including his own child. According to the Chicago Tribune, the suspect had been arguing with his wife because he wanted her to dress in Muslim garb, which she refused, her sister, Shirina Thompson said. He became a Muslim while in federal prison on a gun charge, the Tribune said.
