Frostburg Student, Tyrone Hall, Charged with 1st Degree Murder & Attempted Murder in Double Shooting, One Dead

Frostburg State student, Tyrone Hall, charged with 1st degree murder in shotgun death of Brandon Carroll and attempted murder for wounding Ellis Hartridge.


Tyrone Hall, a student at Frostburg State University has been accused of shooting two fellow students, killing one, with a 12-gauge shotgun, after a fight began at an off-campus party. According to the Baltimore Sun, Hall of Glen Burnie, was charged with first degree murder and first-degree attempted murder in the shooting death of school basketball player, Brandon Carroll, 20, and wounding Ellis Hartridge Jr., 21, who is expected to make a full recovery.

Police say Carroll and Hartridge were part of a group that went to Hall's home to confront him around 4 a.m. Sunday after he allegedly assaulted a woman at a party earlier in the evening. Hall remained in his home after the shooting until police arrived.

Frostburg State University's student government organization has planned a candlelight march at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday with a vigil service that begins at 9 p.m. The university has also made counselors available to speak to students. Source: Baltimore Sun
Why do people have to solve their disputes with guns? It only leads to violence and possibly death, as in this case. Hall is headed for a bond review hearing 11 a.m. Monday. Hall, who has no previous criminal history, is currently being held without bond.
