Six Killed in Holiday Weekend Violence in Chicago

Six men have been killed in acts of violence since Friday night in Chicago - five shot, one stabbed. According to the Chicago Sun Times, David Lucas was shot and killed Saturday afternoon as he walked along the 6500 block of South Carolina Avenue, when a light colored vehicle approached, a gunman exited and opened fire. Deandre Boatman, 18, and Devonne Polk, 34, were also killed Saturday afternoon in another drive-by shooting. Early Saturday morning a gunman walked up to wheel-chair bound Martez Benton and shot him to death. College student Rodney Kyles Jr. was stabbed to death and his friend wounded in an incident characterized as an "accidental bump." Tyrone Robertson was shot and killed as he sat on a park bench Friday night at about 8:50 p.m.
