Stevens told The Christian Post that he also has a problem with the phrase “born again.”“I have similar hesitations with ‘born again’ probably because it’s also an insider term,” Stevens said. “'Born again' for the world at large is somewhat of a misunderstood term.” Stevens, also author of Pop Goes the Church: Should the Church Engage Pop Culture?, says that he often writes blog posts about what has been on his mind for a while and in some cases, it helps him seek answers from others. SourceHe realizes that he may be offending many Christians by taking this position. Read his entire blog post here: http://www.leadingsmart.com/2011/08/does-the-word-saved-bother-anyone-else.html

Indiana Megachurch Pastor Tim Stevens Says "Saved & Born-Again" Should be Removed from Church Vocabulary
Indiana megachurch pastor Tim Stevens recently wrote a blog post asking readers, “Does the Word 'Saved' Bother Anyone Else?” Stevens, who is the executive pastor at Granger Community Church, said he's annoyed at the word "saved," especially when used among Christians to describe someone who has made a commitment to follow Jesus Christ for the rest of their lives. Apparently he also has a problem with the phrase "born again." Um, we are all adults here, we know exactly what the phrase "born again" means. Not a physical birth but a spiritual one. We are becoming so politically correct it's sickening.
