Talk-show host Montel Williams put on blast by two of his children, Montel and Wyntergrace, who say he is a hypocrite and an absentee father.
Montel Williams has long prided himself as a family man and has long talked about the responsibility fathers have to their children and their families. Well, it turns out that he is being painted as a hypocrite by two of his children, who have launched an online petition, the "Montel Williams II Equality for Kids Campaign," to give minor children a bigger voice in the court system. The two children, Montel, 16 and Wyntergrace, 14, children from his marriage to Grace Morley, which ended in divorce in 2000, have complained that Williams literally abandoned them amid a bitter custody battle. The children said, in an interview with the NY Daily News, that the former talk-show host turned his back on them, paying $18,700 a month in child support while depriving them of the emotional support they crave. It is a sad commentary that Williams, who is now a radio show host, self-help guru and hawking a series of products under the "Living Well" name, has reportedly only seen his daughter four times in five years. Grace Morley is pushing for full custody of her children, since the couple currently shares joint custody.
Williams has said that life coach Lisa Nkonoki, who Morley hired to help her children deal with their estrangement from their father, is needlessly meddling in their lives. According to the NY Daily News, at a hearing in November, Williams' lawyer complained she was keeping the father and his children apart. This hot mess is playing out in the public arena and it is unfortunate that Montell Williams can't handle his business better than this, considering he intervened and sought rehabilitation for so many guests on his show. People have to realize that the so-called celebrities have more drama than an ordinary person on the street.
