BREAKING!!!! Luis Armando Pena Soltren, 66, who was wanted since 1968 in the hijacking of Pan American Flight 281 to Cuba has been apprehended. Federal authorities took the fugitive, who had been living in Cuba, into custody Sunday for his role in the November 24, 1968, hijacking. The flight had originated at New York City's John F. Kennedy International Airport and was bound for San Juan, Puerto Rico, when it was diverted.
This fugitive was apprehended at JFK, the same airport where he and his accomplices Jose Rafael Rios Cruz, Miguel Castro and Alejandro Figueroa, boarded the Pan Am flight and terrorized the passengers with guns and knives. He arrived after making arrangements with the authorities for his return to the United States. He reportedly told authorities that he wanted to come home and face his fate because he missed his family.
This just goes to prove, you can run, but you can't hide for ever.
