Baby-Faced Juan Gonzalez, 15, Arrested 14 times, Eyed in 25 More Burglaries in New York City

There are some really ignorant people in our midst. I came across an interesting article on the New York Post website and I was appalled at the level of ignorance of some of the commenters. Baby-faced Juan Gonzalez, 15, is a burglar who has more than a dozen busts under his belt. He has reportedly ransacked up to 25 more apartments, mainly in the West Village. He was arrested in Richmond Hill, Queens, last Friday. This time he brought his 13 year old brother along with him. Talk about a positive role model. What is sad is that this young boy has been nailed for 11 other robberies in the same precinct. Here's my question, where are his parents?

The 150-pound, 5-foot-7 kid was nailed for that robbery and 11 others in the same precinct, the source said. Add that to two previous busts, and he's up to 14 arrests. According to the police, his rap sheet is stunning -- his first arrest was in 2005, when he was 11 and his next followed in 2008. According to the New York Post, he spent six months in detention.

What is equally disturbing is the fact that he has no parents or role models in his life. His grandmother, Gladys Gonzalez, 59, told the NY Post that the last time she saw her grandson was two weeks ago, when he asked to borrow $40. She said, "Juan lives on the street now," Vasquez said. "He calls me on the phone, and says, 'I'm OK. I love you,' and hangs up."This is no way for a child to live. His parents have failed him miserably. The authorities should find his parents and throw them in prison for being losers and for spawning a monster.

This is a travesty and this kid turned to a life of crime at an early age. He should be punished to the fullest extent of the law. If he isn't reined in now, he will graduate to heinous crimes.
