Comedian and actor Eddie Murphy in talks to host 84th Oscar Awards in 2012, may just be the jumpstart his career needs.
The word on the street is that Eddie Murphy's name is being tossed in the ring to host the next Oscar Awards show. That might be the kick in the pants the show needs to create a more enjoyable telecast because Eddie Murphy is very funny. At least, he can be. The announcement should be made in the next coming weeks. That might also be the kick in the pants his dormant career needs, ahead of his comical "Tower Heist" movie with Ben Stiller, which is set to open in theaters November 4th. The movie was directed by Ratner, so the two have a close relationship.According to Deadline Hollywood, no decision on a host for the 84th show has been made, but Murphy's name has been mentioned to Oscar producer Brett Ratner, who is scheduled tell the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences whom he wants to be the host. Eddie Murphy is also starring in the DreamWorks' dramedy, "A Thousand Words," scheduled for release January 12, 2012.
