DA to drop case against former IMF chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn because of serious credibility issues with Sofitel maid.
Former IMF chief
Dominique Strauss-Kahn may see the charges dropped in the
sex assault case against him after the prosecutors have expressed concerns over the lack of credibility of his accuser, a
Sofitel West African maid. It is a shame that this woman, if the allegations of lies and a set-up are true, could accuse the man of such a crime, even though she was a willing participant for the money and became irate when she was allegedly "stiffed" by Strauss for her sexual favors.
An unnamed senior investigator said the eventual dismissal of charges was "a certainty", according to the New York Post. "We all know this case is not sustainable," the newspaper quoted its source as saying. "Her credibility is so bad now, we know we cannot sustain a case with her," the source told the newspaper, referring to the Guinean hotel maid who accused Strauss-Kahn of trying to rape her in a luxury hotel in Manhattan. There are so many women out there who are the victims of
sexual assault and are afraid to come forward.
