Memphis Police Officer Timothy Warren shot & killed responding to domestic disturbance call at Double Tree hotel, one civilian killed & suspect in custody.

URGENT: A Memphis police officer Timothy Warren was shot and killed inside a Double Tree hotel in downtown Memphis as he responded to a domestic disturbance call. A civilian was also shot and killed at the scene.  A suspect is in police custody.

According to a police source, the officer was killed after responding to the disturbance. The officer was climbing a stairwell when the suspect opened a door to a hotel floor, stepped out and immediately shot him in the head. Source: Commercial Appeal

WMC-TV is reporting Officer Warren, a Mississippi native, is survived by a wife, Betsey, and two small children, James 8 and Jewel, 4. He had served with the MPD since July 2003.
