GOP Presidential Hopeful Michele Bachmann Says Dollar in 2011 Should Be Same as Dollar in 1911

GOP presidential hopeful Michele Bachmann says dollar in 2011 should be same as the dollar in 1911.

GOP presidential hopeful Michele Bachmann has shown, once again, that she doesn't have a clue about how to run a country. Her latest faux pas is an economic one. She said a dollar in 2011 should be the same as a dollar in 1911.
BACHMANN: The shorthand way of describing to you what quantitative easing is is a license to print money without any value behind it…In the last two years of the Obama administration, if you pull a dollar out of your pocket, you have lost 14 percent of the value of that dollar. That means the federal government has stolen that money from you… They’ve been printing essentially valueless money and flooding it into the money supply. I don’t stand for that. A dollar in 2011 should be the same as a dollar in 1911. A dollar should be worth a dollar.
Um, speaking economics, that's not possible you dingbat. Mrs. Bachmann doesn't seem to get it that the dollar's value changes over time and walks hand-in-hand with economic growth. To all those people who love Michele Bachmann, do you really think she has a clue about anything of substance?
