A Scottsdale police officer stopped Carrie Mae Stoudemire, 54, about 3:25 p.m. Saturday near 116th Street and Shea Boulevard, according to the police report. Carrie Stoudemire's Lincoln Navigator was straddling two lanes and was going about 60 mph eastbound on Shea Boulevard, police said. What's sad is that this wasn't the first time Carrie Stoudemire found herself on the wrong side of the law. According to the Arizona Republic, she has been in jail dozens of times for charges ranging from drug possession to prostitution. I know you can't judge her son based on her actions, but she failed him, on so many levels and is now reaping the benefits of his career. What a loser.
Carrie Stoudemire told the officer that she wasn't aware that she needed to have an ignition interlock device on all of her vehicles and that the Navigator was rented. She told the officer she was on her way to an alcohol class.
Carrie Stoudemire refused to participate in a field sobriety test, so the officer handcuffed her and put her in the back seat of his patrol car. Carrie Stoudemire was booked into the Scottsdale jail and later released. She is charged with speeding, operating a vehicle without an ignition interlock device and failure to drive in a single lane, police said. Source: AZ Republic

Phoenix Suns Amar'e Stoudemire's Mother, Arrested for Failing to Have Ignition Lock Device
Carrie Stoudemire, mother of Phoenix Suns forward, Amar'e Stoudemire, was arrested Saturday for failing to have an ignition interlock device on her vehicle, according to the Arizona Republic. Surely this woman should have known that since she had a drinking problem and her driver's license says that she must have the device on her vehicles until Oct. 30, police said. The arresting officer wrote her eyes were "watery and glassy" and to make matters worse, she refused to take a sobriety test.
