Attorney General Eric Holder said he was discussing with Congress possible modifications to the Miranda rights. Isn't this a little odd coming from Holder, considering the outrage over affording the same rights to Faisal Shahzad in the Times Square bombing attempt and Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab in the failed attempt to blow up an airliner over Detroit last Christmas Day.
During an interview Sunday on ABC's "This Week," Holder said both suspects continued to talk to law enforcement after the Miranda warnings. He cautioned that the administration needs to consider at least a modification of the public safety exception for reading a suspect his rights to ensure law enforcement can act with flexibility and within constitutional bounds.
Sorry, but we don't need to afford terrorists any special treatment when they are arrested. They are scum and should be treated as such. I would have expected Eric Holder to be a little smarter in this choice of words and actions. The last thing we need is to get terrorists more rights in this country, especially since they are hellbent on inflicting massive destruction in this country. Our enemies don't need any constitutional compromises. No way.
