The officer and his female partner, both of whom have not been identified, searched for the suspect who parked a vehicle in a carport and covered it with a tarp, police said. The gunman was later found hiding naked in a shed near the home. The suspect is reportedly from the Tucson area and had prior felony convictions. Gee, why am I not surprised by revelation? The identity of the deceased officer has not been disclosed yet.
The vehicle is believed to be connected with a shots fired call in the northwest Phoenix area, but has not been confirmed by police. The officers went on opposite sides of the house. One of the officers found a man, who opened fire on the officer. That officer was struck. Source: Arizona Republic
