Bill Kristol Revels in Chicago's Olympic Failure, Says President Obama Acted Like "Imperialist Bully"

During an appearance on Fox News Sunday, the Weekly Standard's Bill Kristol proved once again that he is a complete idiot. He argued that President Obama's natural disposition should have had him rooting for Brazil to be awarded the host city for the 2016 Summer Olympics, but the "president acted like an imperialist bully in making his Copenhagen jaunt." Excuse me, but am I missing something here? This is coming from the same moron whose news room erupted in cheers once it was obvious that Chicago was eliminated from serious contention.

"There are so many ironies in this," Kristol said, during an appearance on Fox News Sunday. "By Barack Obama's view of the world, he should have been routing for Brazil to get the Olympics."

"'South America has never gotten them, Brazil has never gotten them. It is a rising power, it would help Brazil. We don't need the Olympics, we have had them a million times. Our economy doesn't need the boost of the Olympics,'" Kristol added, mimicking the president. "And then [Obama] in a sort of George W. Bush like way goes and tries to bully the International Olympic Committee... 'Come walk with us. I'm here for America.'"

"Could you imagine if Bush had done this and we hadn't gotten it?" He went on. "'Typical Bush heavy handedness, cowboy unilateralist, hegemonic imperialist action.' Obama falls into that trap and they run for it. So I must say, you couldn't help by being amused by it." Source: Huffington Post
Right. I am amazed that the only channel this idiot is welcome is Fox News. I had serious reservations about President Obama going to Copenhagen, but I understood the reason behind his actions. I felt that he should have remained in Washington D.C., addressing the real issues confronting this country. That doesn't mean I cheered Chicago's loss. I am happy that Brazil won because the Olympics have never been held in South America before. Newsflash to Bill Kristol, when the president fails, we fail as a country.  We are still paying the price for President Bush's failures -- a massive recession and an Iraqi war to which there seems to be no end.
