Convicted killer Gerard Domond sues New York state for $50 million because jail stigmatized him by calling him an "inmate," implying he's "mating with other men."
RIDICULOUS: The family of Gerard Domond, a convicted killer, is suing the state of New York $50 million because he is being "stigmatized" by being called an "inmate." Um, he's also a cold-blooded murderer, plus an inmate, so who cares what they think. According to the Daily Mail, in his lawsuit, Domond says the term implies he was 'mating with other men.' Whatever. Frivolous lawsuit.
Speaking to the New York Post, his sister Marie Domond said the term: 'Implies that our brother is locked up for the purpose of mating with other men.' Mrs Domond, who is acting as the family's lawyer, added: 'The suggestive nature of the word is disgraceful. This cruel psychological programming has weighed heavily on our emotional and psychological well-being.
'It's something that's bothered me for a long time. 'I couldn't understand why no one recognised that somebody being labelled an inmate, why they wouldn't recognise that. 'To me it just sounded very wrong.' Source
Never mind the fact that her brother murdered a man in cold blood over a drug deal gone bad. He was convicted in 1987 and has been serving time at the Clinton Correctional Facility in upstate New York. He will be eligible for parole in May 2013.
