The gunmen rounded up the guard, whom police identify as 37-year-old David Casto of Winder, and two store employees and put them in the store's freezer. Officer Chalker says the employees were duct taped and, at one point, taken out, leaving Casto behind. When the employees were brought back, they found Casto dead, shot in the head. Casto worked for Executive Security Services of Atlanta, which is contracted with Ingles. This is such a tragedy and I am thankful that the suspects are behind bars. Here is someone who was doing the right thing and was senselessly gunned down. It is my hope they will be denied bond. According to media reports, David Casto wanted to become a police officer. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.
Forsyth County Sheriff Ted Paxton says Casto appeared to have been disarmed "well before he was shot" and no other shots were fired.
The suspects are described as three black males, who were all wearing masks. They got away with an undisclosed amount of money before police arrived. An employee managed to call 911 at about 11:30 p.m. Source: 11 Alive News
