A 7.2 magnitude earthquake struck south of U.S.-Mexico border and swayed buildings in downtown Los Angeles and San Diego.
URGENT: A 7.2 magnitude earthquake struck south of the U.S.-Mexico border Sunday that swayed buildings downtown Los Angeles and San Diego. It was also felt across Arizona, but there were no immediate reports of major damage there. There is damage in the Imperial Valley and there is damage in Mexicali. The are reports of evacuation at Disneyland and Six Flags.The quake struck at 3:40 p.m. in Baja California, Mexico about 19 miles southeast of Mexicali, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. USGS seismologist Susan Potter said the quake was felt as far north as Santa Barbara.
